IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA
BY GIOACHINO ROSSINI

AT THE HISTORIC

Il barbiere di Siviglia is the story of a barber in the city of Seville named Figaro who serves a count named Almaviva. The count is looking for love, but not from just anyone. He wants someone who cares for him not because of his title or money, but for him as a person, so he does the only logical thing… he pretends to be someone else and starts wooing the lovely Rosina under a false pretense! Disguises, sneaking around, and hilarity ensues, and leaves the audience smiling from ear to ear!

The opera will be presented in Italian with English supertitles, accompanied by

orchestra.

PLEASE NOTE THAT MASKS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL PATRONS ATTENDING IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA.

CAST: HEESEUNG CHAE, MAX HOSMER, EDITH GROSSMAN, STACEY MURDOCK, ALEX BOYD, AND JANESE PENTICO.

DIRECTED BY GREG ELDRIDGE, CONDUCTED BY KSENIA LELETKINA.

ORFEO ED EURIDICE
BY CHRISTOPH WILLIBALD GLUCK

Orfeo ed Euridice is an opera based on the classic Greek myth, but our blackbox production brings a very grunge twist. Orpheus is promised that he may enter Hades and retrieve his wife, Euridice from death on one condition: he may not look back to see if she's there for the entire journey back from the underworld and trust Hades hasn't fooled him...

This opera will be presented in Italian with English Supertitles

This event is a semi-staged, semi-concert black-box production accompanied by piano. Because of rehearsal challenges due to COVID-19, some artists may be different than originally billed and portions of the performance will be performed from score.

THREE GREAT EVENTS TO CHOOSE FROM!

Don't forget there's more to the Festival than the mainstage! You won't want to miss out on all the summer fun of our Recital Series where you can hear the mainstage principals perform more repertoire, catch some opera in a brewery, and hear the up-and-coming talent in Wisconsin from our Fellows! Check out our titles just below!

  • PROFESSIONAL MASTERCLASS

Our Fellows sing in a masterclass led by our visiting guest artists. Come see us pull back the curtain on how opera singers achieve the athletic kind of performance they do and experience our guest artists and Fellows in a more intimate environment than any other product on our season!
